Stafford County, Virginia Implements MobileHWY’s mobile solution for government agencies, Mobile INSPECTOR™

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) – October 7, 2006 – MobileHWY announced today that Stafford County, Virginia has implemented its Mobile INSPECTOR™ field automation solution for governments.  The Code Administration Building Division deployed the mobile workforce solution to increase overall efficiency and enhance customer service.

Located midway between Washington D.C. and Richmond, Stafford County was the second fastest growing county in Virginia in 2005.  With a surge in population came a surge in new home construction and the Stafford County Code Administration Department quickly began looking for ways to meet the growing demands of the community.  With a staff of eight inspectors, the County performs in excess of 200 inspections per day.  The traditional paper-based inspection process had inspectors returning to the office each day for several hours of paperwork and data entry; time that could have otherwise been spent out in the field servicing requests.  The inspectors were also limited on the amount of project information they had access to in the field and relied heavily on the office staff throughout the day for that information.  Realizing these areas of impediment, Stafford County equipped their team with laptops and MobileHWY’s mobile workforce solution, Mobile INSPECTOR™ to eliminate delays and streamline the overall inspection process.

Using Mobile INSPECTOR™, County inspectors are able to access critical information in real-time, receive their daily schedules, complete their tasks, and transmit those results directly into the county’s data system.  By automating these processes, both the office hours required each day to complete paperwork as well as the number of phone calls to the office has significantly reduced.  “Our inspectors now have instant access to the vital project information in the field, making them less dependant on our office staff.  We’ve been able to provide more service hours to our community each day and are now better utilizing our staff and their time,” states Cary Jamison, Chief Building Inspector for Stafford County.
