Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) – December 20, 2006 – MobileHWY announced today that Indian River County, Florida has implemented the latest version of MobileHWY’s mobile solution for government agencies, Mobile INSPECTOR™. The Community Development Building Division first deployed the mobile solution in 2005 to increase efficiencies and streamline their inspection process.
The Indian River County Community Development Building Division estimates they perform an average of 460 building inspections per day. Personnel would spend as much as 4 hours of their day on paperwork related to the inspection process, such as scheduling inspectors’ itineraries and inputting inspection results. After implementing MobileHWY’s application, the county quickly reduced the time spent on paperwork and administrative duties by 70%. Field personnel began utilizing Laptops and other Internet enable devices to access critical information in the field in real-time. They were able to receive their daily schedules, complete their tasks, and transmit inspection results directly into the county’s data system.
MobileHWY’s latest version of Mobile INSPECTOR™ offers all of the previous version’s features but adds an enhanced management console, improved routing features, advanced store and forward functionality, and a simplified user interface . New summary reports give an overall view of all inspectors’ daily itineraries allowing for workload balancing, maximizing inspectors’ time out in the field. Added itinerary rollback and color coding features also enables inspectors to quickly view and address items from previous days. In addition, the advanced store and forward functionality ensures work is never interrupted or lost. If an inspector is in an area of limited wireless coverage, work is saved until connectivity is restored and then transmitted back to the office.
“Everything we need is now in MobileHWY’s application. We no longer need to access other databases or contact someone at the office to look up information for us,” states Shawn Doutrich, Building Inspector for Indian River County. “The upgrade to the new version of Mobile INSPECTOR™ was simple.”
